If you are just joining me, I am currently completing a challenge where I try to get rid of 10 things per day from different areas of my home. Click
here for background on the project.
So, I decided to switch Day 3 and Day 4--simply because I am having a Christmas party today and I do not want to overwhelm myself. Day 4's project seems more realistic for me this afternoon.
Day 3: Kitchen drawers- Any junk or miscellaneous drawers.
Here was my "miscellaneous" drawer before:

I absolutely hated opening this drawer. Something would always get caught when I tried to close it, simply because it was just to full!
Now here is my new "miscellaneous" drawer:

Yup-- it's that old second flatware drawer-- This works so much better for us! I left the measuring cups and spoons in that old drawer, along with the toothpicks, the apple slicer, and birthday candles. I only found 1 thing to give away---another rogue knife that had been put away in the wrong drawer and never found again (until now!) I debated giving away that lemon juicer, but I just couldn't do it. I probably use it once a year. Well, okay--I don't know when I used it last.. Okay maybe I will give it away. Yes- I am going to give it away now! This picture made me realize how much space an unused item is taking up.
It is tough to get rid of things that are perfectly good! I honestly don't use that lemon juicer though, so why not give it to a family who will use it? We do use the garlic press, wine bottle opener, can opener, veggie peeler, lighter, and skewers. My husband uses the ice cream scoop (I just use a spoon!) so we will keep that.
