Grocery Budget-- Week of 1/13

This week I spent $54.71 at the grocery store.  I did spend a little on non grocery items, making my total really $52.50.

Here are our meals for the week:

I have been getting in the habit of adding an extra meal option in case we aren't in the mood for something.  As they say, variety is the spice of life! :)

Sloppy Joes with salad (fresh orange, avocado, spinach, toasted almonds, cheese, and dressing)
Avocado Chicken Parmesan
Mexican Haystacks  -- no cilantro
Crock Pot Orange Chicken
Creamy Bacon Carbonara
Zucchini, Black Beans, Bacon, and Rice dish  --no bell pepper or tomatoes, brown rice instead of white
Perfectly Easy Pancakes with scrambled eggs and Greek yogurt with a little honey.
Cream Cheese Green Chili Enchiladas with salad

lunch:

Turkey Pesto Panini  (chicken instead of turkey, no tomatoes)
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
leftovers

breakfast

Cereal, muffins, oatmeal

I did splurge a little on things that were not absolutely essential, but I really wanted to add some variety.  We added a salad to our meal and included toasted almonds.  The almonds were a little pricy but absolutely worth it.  I also added a lunch option to have paninis, so the extra bread was a little more than I would normally buy.  Overall though, I'm happy with our shopping this week!
